Kief
Kief Explained
Kief is the loose collection of resin glands, called trichomes, that separate from cannabis flower. These tiny resin-rich particles naturally coat the surface of the plant and contain many of its cannabinoids and aromatic compounds. Unlike Hash, which is further processed into a more compact form, Kief generally remains loose and powder-like. It also differs from concentrates such as Live Resin and Shatter, which use different processing methods and produce very different textures.

What Is Kief Made Of?
Kief consists primarily of separated trichomes, the small resin glands that develop on cannabis flower. These glands contain cannabinoids and aromatic compounds produced naturally by the plant. Colour, texture, purity, and listed potency can vary between products and batches.
How Is Kief Different From Hash?
Kief and Hash both originate from cannabis resin glands, but their final forms differ. Kief generally remains loose after separation, while Hash involves additional processing that consolidates the resin into a denser product.
Kief vs Live Resin, Shatter & Other Concentrates
Kief is separated resin material, while concentrates such as Live Resin and Shatter are produced using different processing methods. As a result, these categories can differ substantially in texture, composition, appearance, and product format.
